All My Children star Alec Musser died by suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound aged 50 on Friday.
The former fitness model, who was also known for his guest role on Desperate Housewives, was found dead by his fiancee Paige Press with an apparent shotgun wound to the chest on Saturday, January 13 at his Del Mar, California home.
Musser was found in his bathroom after Press last saw him alive on the evening of Friday, January 12, per a San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office press release published Tuesday.
The following morning Press found Musser ‘seated and slumped forward’ on the bathroom floor with a wound to the chest and a firearm near him.
Before his cause of death was released, Press told Fox News Digital Musser was suffering from ‘a severe case of Covid’ at the time of his death – he was vaccinated and boosted.

Press declared it the ‘worst day of my life’ as she confirmed that the actor passed away.
The couple got engaged last year and Press posted a series of throwback photos on her Instagram Story in a tribute to the late actor.
‘RIP to the love of my life,’ she wrote on Instagram over a ‘vision board for 2023’ on which she had posted photos of him and engagement images. ‘I will never stop loving you.’
Over a photo of them at a red carpet appearance together, she wrote: ‘Today is the worst day of my life. We were so happy.’
‘You were the best fiancé I could of [sic] ever asked for,’ she posted alongside a photo of him surprising her with matching Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUVs. ‘I don’t even think I can drive my g wagon anymore.’
Messer’s uncle also confirmed the tragic news to TMZ but also did not reveal his cause of death.
Previously, Musser starred as Del Henry on the long-running television series All My Children.
In July 2005, he was awarded the role after he won the second season of the SOAPnet original series I Wanna Be a Soap Star.
He appeared on a total of 43 episodes until he exited the drama series in 2007.
He had also appeared in Grown Ups, Desperate Housewives, Road to the Altar and Rita Rocks.

An avid athlete since he was a child, the New York native was also a fitness model.
After graduating from the University of San Diego, he started working with the professional ski patrol at Mammouth Mountain.
It was there where he was scouted by an agent for his first modeling job at Abercrombie and Fitch.

His many other modeling credits include GQ, Cosmopolitan, Men’s Health, Speedo and Target.
After landing national commercials, it was then he auditioned for I Wanna Be a Soap Star.
In recent years, he was not active in Hollywood but maintained a presence on social media as he often posted often about his active lifestyle and fitness journey.
His last Instagram post was of himself partaking in one of his favorite outdoor activities and surfing four days ago.
In the comments section, many of his fans left touching tributes remembering his memory and expressing their sympathies to his loved ones.
Adam Sandler, who worked with Musser on Grown Ups, shared a heartbreaking tribute for his former co-star.
‘I loved this guy,’ he wrote in a caption alongside a photo of Musser in their 2010 comedy drama. ‘Cannot believe he is gone.’
The 57-year-old actor continued: ‘Such a wonderful, funny good man. Thinking of Alec Musser and his family and sending all my love. A true great sweetheart of a person.’
She also shared a photo of them enjoying a night out together from the beginning of their relationship

Press also posted a picture of them hiking at golden hour with their dog and at the beach during sunset.
